Nashville Zoo’s New Andean Bear Exhibit Opens March 15th
Nashville Zoo will officially open its newest exhibit, Expedition Peru: Trek of the Andean Bear, with a ribbon cutting celebration Thursday, March 15, 2018. The event will include a variety of animals and announcements from Nashville’s Zoo's President & CEO and Zoo board members. Speakers for the event: Nashville Zoo Board Chair Julie W. The addition of Andean bears will mark the first time this species has ever been housed at Nashville Zoo at Grassmere in its entire 21-year history. The covered viewing building will feature materials from around the world including Peruvian textiles and decorative wood and tile work. The Andean bear exhibit is graciously funded by 12 significant donors. The ribbon cutting ceremony is sponsored by Middle Tennessee Honda Dealers.
